the genus pachypodium is a member of the dogbanes (apocynaceae) family and containes about 20 species. they are native to africa and madagascar. the most popular member is pachypodium lamerei (madagascar palm).
the succulent plants prefer sunny places and a well drained soil. they are flowering in white or yellow.
